PrenErfed

PrenErfed, how did you come up with that gamer name, any hidden meaning?
Nothing hidden about it.  Since Archmages in Warhammer lore are the most powerful spellcasters in the game of course they had to be weakened (nerfed) to become a player class in WAR.  So my chosen class is Pre Nerfed.  If possible my character's surname will be Windssword, as AMs use all of the Winds of Magic, and I CUT YOU MANG!!!

Briefly tell us a bit about your history as a gamer.
Started at age 2 with the Atari 2600, Commodore 64, early PC adventure and strategy games, saved up my allowance and mowed yards to buy the Nintendo NES, Sega Genesis, and played most of the consoles since.  Tons of FPSs on PC and console, pretty much every Blizzard game ever, and now I Wii when I'm not lusting for WAR.

What was your first MMO?
After seeing some close friends succumb to the horrors of EverQuest (NeverRest) addiction it took WoW to get me into a true MMO; being a long-time Blizzard fan I had to give it a chance.  Before that I was in several online guilds with some non-MMO adventure games and FPSs, so the social aspects of gaming have always appealed to me.  Games are more fun if you can play with friends.

What has been your favorite MMO to date and why?
Though not a true MMO the best time I've ever had playing an online game was in Diablo 2.  I was a member of a very close-knit Hardcore guild that could handle every boss on every difficulty level with minimal or no losses, and we had a ton of fun while doing it.  Eventually the strain of losing a character forever when it died just got to be too much for me (time wise), so I had to go back to softcore, but if any of the old D2F crew are out there in the ether reading this, holla at your boy!

What do you like best about MMOs?
The social aspect.  Killing a big dragon in an adventure game like Zelda is great and all, but killing a bigger dragon as part of a well-honed fighting unit in an MMO is better.  Teamwork, socialization, talking and laughing on voice-chat, getting and giving assistance from your guildies and friends, these are the things that make MMOs the most fun gaming experience out there.

What class in which MMO most appealed to you?
I could tell you some great stories about my D2 Amazons! =D  But even though ranged DPS can be a ton of fun once I got into true MMOs support classes were more my style.  I enjoy making sure that my guildies and groupmates are able to fight their hardest and win, and keeping them alive with heals and buffs is a great way to do that.  Playing hybrid healer/nukers is great for me because I can really get a feel for how the entire fight is going, rather than just worrying about how fast I can cast that next fireball.

What class and race in WAR most appeals to you?
The Archmage's description as the nuker-healer of Order was an immediate draw to me.  My preferred playing style is the hybrid DPS/healer type, and I find that players on the "good guys" side of the fence usually have a bit more maturity, discipline, and respect for others than the people who want to play the bad guys just because they look cool.  Plenty of Order classes look plenty cool enough.  Also I have a new baby daughter (doubtless a video game prodigy in the making) who needs to see her Daddy being a good guy. ;)

Have you ever played Warhammer Fantasy or Warhammer 40K?
Not really, though I had a number of friends in college who were into 40K and when I was younger I used to buy one or two kits of Warhammer miniatures and paint them just for fun.  I still have those miniatures, but you'll never see any pictures of my 12-year-old painting skills. =P  I'm looking forward to getting the CE miniature!

What drew you in to Warhammer Online?
The fact that it's a next generation MMO based on a very well established IP with a focused endgame.

Of all the information that is out about Warhammer Online, what appeals to you most and why?
Besides the focused aspect of WAR's endgame (invading the enemy capital cities) the most innovative thing I've heard of to date is the Tome of Knowledge.  Having a feature that automatically tracks everything you see, do, or kill in the game is a great idea!  Not having to find an NPC to get a quest from them before getting credit for doing or killing something is outstanding.  Bloody bears!

What do you hope to see happen with the Dynasty within Warhammer Online?
Domination.  I want us to be one of the top 5 guilds on our server, and to have the other top 5-10 guilds all in our Alliance.  I want Destruction players to cower in fear at the mention that we are taking keeps leading to their city.  Sweeping.  Unstoppable.  Conquest!

Any words of wisdom for people who recently joined or are thinking about joining Dynasty?
Good luck!  And I hope you're interested in joining a fun, but serious group of gamers, ready to take on the best that Destruction can throw at us, chew them up and spit out the bones.

Finally answer this... D-Y-N-A-S-T-?
Yell, scream, and tremble in fear dirtbags.  DYNASTY is coming to burn your homes to the ground and grind salt into your fields and wounds.
